Maruti Suzuki's (Maruti Suzuki) electric car has been in the market for a long time. Because opponents have already presented their own environmentally friendly models. In this regard, the Indo-Japanese company is several steps behind. But this time they have taken steps in that direction. Along with the fourth generation Swift, the company's first electric SUV EVX was seen testing on Indian roads for the first time.

Incidentally, Suzuki displayed two cars at the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo. The production ready model of the EVX electric SUV is expected to make its international debut in 2024. Where India may be launched at the end of next year or at the beginning of 2025.

Maruti Suzuki EVX Details

Maruti Suzuki EVX was spotted testing in front of the company's factory in Gurgaon. However, the company did not reveal anything about the architecture of the car. Reports claim it will be based on a new skateboard platform, called the 27PL. It is built on Toyota's 40PL electric skateboard architecture. The car will be manufactured at Suzuki's Gujarat plant.

Design and Interior

Maruti Suzuki first showcased the concept model of the EVX at the Auto Expo 2023. Its length, width, height and wheelbase are 4.3 m, 1.8 m, 1.6 m and 2.7 m respectively. The concept version is strikingly similar to the spotted model. It features blacked out grille, L-shaped headlamps and curves with smooth bumpers and creases.

Maruti Suzuki EVX features wrap-around taillights, silver connected bars, rear door handles with C-pillars, and integrated roof spoiler. The roofline looks like the coupe model. The electric SUV has extensive cladding all around. That's why the rugged design is obvious.

The cabin of the car features a large screen, two spoke earring, instrument cluster, AC vent, rotary dial on the center console, electrically adjustable driver seat. The SUV offers multiple airbags and advanced driver assistance system.

Powertrain

The vehicle can be equipped with a battery with LPF blade cells of 60 kWh capacity to provide propulsion power. It is expected to provide a range of 550 km on a full charge. But in reality it can be assumed that the range will be close to 400 km.
