Huawei Pura 70 and Pura 70 Pro Smartphones Hit the Market, Comes with 100W Charging
Huawei recently announced that it will rebrand its long-standing flagship P-series as “Pura”. And now as expected the Huawei Pura 70 series has entered the Chinese market under the new branding. The lineup includes a total of four models – Huawei Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro, Pura 70 Pro Plus and Huawei Pura 70 Ultra.
Let's take a closer look at the specifications, availability and pricing of the new Pura 70 series standard and Pro models.
Huawei Pura 70 Pro and Pura 70 Specifications and Features
The Huawei Pura 70 Pro features a 6.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,844 x 1,260. This panel supports 1-120 Hz variable refresh rate, 1,440 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and 2,500 nits peak brightness. For display protection, the phone uses second-generation Kunlun glass, which improves 100% drop resistance capability. On the other hand, the standard Pura 70 has a slightly smaller 6.6-inch display with a 2,760 x 1,256 resolution. It will also have the protection of second-generation Kunlun glass.
In terms of performance, while the Huawei Pura 70 Pro is powered by the newly unveiled Kirin 9010 chipset, the Huawei Pura 70 features an underclocked version of the Kirin 9000S, called the Kirin 9000S1. The series runs on HarmonyOS 4.2 operating system. The new Kirin 9010 chipset includes two large cores clocked at 2.30 GHz, six medium cores clocked at 2.18 GHz and four small cores clocked at 1.55 GHz. For graphics, it is paired with the same Maleon 910 GPU as its predecessor.
In terms of power backup, the Huawei Pura 70 Pro is powered by a 5,050mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging support. The phone also supports 20W reverse wireless charging. On the other hand, the base Pura 70 model has a 4,900 mAh battery. It supports 66W wired, 50W wireless and 7.5W reverse wireless charging. Both phones support satellite connectivity. As a result, even from places where there is no mobile network, users can establish communication anywhere in the world through satellite.
On the camera front, the Huawei Pura 70 Pro's camera setup includes a 50-megapixel 1/1.3-inch primary sensor with variable aperture of f/1.4-f/4.0 and optical image stabilization (OIS). It is accompanied by a 48-megapixel macro telephoto lens with 35x super macro and f/2.1 aperture. The state-of-the-art XD motion engine on the phone helps capture fast-moving content. Macro cameras can focus as close as 5 cm. Also, the camera setup includes a 12.5-megapixel ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture.
On the other hand, the Huawei Pura 70's camera system features a 50-megapixel main camera with f/1.4-f/4.0 variable aperture and optical image stabilization, a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto lens and a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens with f/2.2 aperture.
Huawei Pura 70 Pro and Pura 70 Price and Availability
Huawei Pura 70 has been launched in three different storage configurations – 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB and 12GB +1TB. They are priced at 5,499 Yuan (roughly Rs. 63,500), 5,999 Yuan (roughly Rs. 70,585), and 6,999 Yuan (roughly Rs. 80,800) respectively.
On the other hand, the Huawei Pura 70 Pro is also available in three different storage options – 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB and 12GB + 1TB. They are priced at 6,499 Yuan (roughly Rs. 76,470), 6,999 Yuan (roughly Rs. 80,800) and 7,999 Yuan (roughly Rs. 92,325). While the Huawei Pura 70 series is available in China, a global launch is unlikely.
