Ghibli-Style Images Take Over ChatGPT: 1 Million Users Join in Just One Hour

ChatGPT is flooded with people looking to create Ghibli Studio Style images. In any case, you have to create your own images in this animated style. As a result of this hype, OpenAI or ChatGPT gained a huge number of users overnight. This app added 1 million users in just 1 hour, which is a record.

Today, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman told XHandel, “The ChatGPT launch 26 months ago was one of the craziest viral moments I’ve ever seen, and at that time we added a million users in five days. But we added a million users in the last hour.”

He gave the users good news: "The photo creation facility has now been launched for free users."

Ghibli storm rages on social media

On March 26, OpenAI launched a feature called Native Image Generation. It allowed users to create their own images based on Japan's famous Studio Ghibli artwork. After that, social media users started converting their images into the format of popular anime films. This has not stopped yet. However, due to strong pressure, OpenAI decided to limit the feature. Today, it has been relaunched for free users.

Due to high demand, Sam Altman posted a few days ago that “its GPU (graphics processing unit) was melting” due to the excess demand. That is why OpenAI has added some restrictions on image creation for both its premium and free users.

In a separate post, the OpenAI CEO wrote, “It’s great to see people liking pictures on ChatGPT. But our GPUs are slowly melting. We’re going to temporarily introduce some limitations while we work to make it more efficient. Hopefully not for long! ChatGPT free users will soon be able to make three pictures a day.”
